National Pact: Strategic Cabinet Meeting Held Ahead of Official Presentation
Port-au-Prince, Monday, February 23, 2026 — The Office of the Prime Minister confirmed that a Cabinet meeting was convened to review major government priorities, just hours before the official presentation of the National Pact for Stability and the Organization of Elections.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s office, the meeting forms part of the immediate preparations leading to the formal unveiling of the Pact at the Villa d’Accueil.
Government officials described the moment as a “decisive step” toward strengthening institutional stability and consolidating the electoral process.
This development comes as several political parties have already begun signing the National Pact in recent days. The 30-article document is designed to frame the post-CPT interim period and outlines two core priorities: restoring nationwide security and organizing inclusive and transparent elections.
The sequence unfolds amid persistent insecurity and continued scrutiny over the structure of Haiti’s political transition. The formal presentation of the Pact is expected to clarify implementation mechanisms and the next stages of the transitional process.
