Sunrise Airways launches direct flights from Cap-Haïtien to Newark and Boston
The Haitian airline will introduce new routes to the U.S. Northeast starting in March 2026, strengthening connections with the Haitian diaspora.
Sunrise Airways has announced the launch of direct flights connecting Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, to Newark, New Jersey, and Boston, Massachusetts, expanding travel options between northern Haiti and the northeastern United States.
According to a press release issued on February 26, 2026, the new service to Boston will begin on March 17, 2026, operating to Logan International Airport (BOS). The Newark route, serving Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), will commence on March 30, 2026.
The weekly Cap-Haïtien–Boston flight will operate every Tuesday aboard an Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats, with return flights scheduled on Wednesdays. For Newark, two weekly flights will operate on Mondays and Saturdays starting March 30, 2026, also using an Airbus A320. Return flights from Newark to Cap-Haïtien are scheduled for Tuesdays and Sundays.
In the statement, Sunrise Airways CEO Gary Stone emphasized the broader significance of the expansion. “Today, we are not simply launching two new air routes. We are strengthening the connection between Haiti and its communities in New York and Boston. For Sunrise Airways, every development carries a promise: to bring families closer together, to reinforce bonds, and to celebrate the strength of our diaspora. We fly to connect people,” he said.
With these new routes, Sunrise Airways continues to expand its international network from Cap-Haïtien, Haiti’s second-largest city, amid strong travel demand between Haiti and major Haitian communities across the United States.
Passengers can book flights and find additional information through the airline’s mobile application or on its official website.
