En Avant Party Holds First National Congress, Appoints Frantz Azemar as National Coordinator
The political movement announces leadership changes and signals its positioning ahead of upcoming elections.
The En Avant political party held the closing ceremony of its first National Congress on February 28, 2026, in Pétion-Ville. Delegations from several municipalities across the country attended the event, which concluded with the announcement of a leadership reshuffle within the party.
At the end of the congress, Frantz Azemar was appointed National Coordinator, replacing Jerry Tardieu, former Member of Parliament for Pétion-Ville. Tardieu will now serve as President of the party’s Strategic Orientation Council. Party officials described the reorganization as part of a broader effort to promote youth leadership within its governing structures.
Speaking to the press, Jerry Tardieu stated that entrusting the national coordination to Azemar reflects the party’s longstanding commitment to generational renewal. He also emphasized the need for restored security and the organization of elections in the near term.
In his remarks, Frantz Azemar thanked party members for their confidence and pledged to implement the strategic directions set by the leadership. Other party officials, including Nancy Vilce, President of the Ouest Coordination, also addressed attendees and highlighted the role of youth engagement in Haiti’s political renewal.
The En Avant party further indicated that it is engaged in discussions with other political parties and social organizations with a view to forming potential electoral alliances. These talks come amid preparations for the upcoming elections scheduled for this year.
The first National Congress marks an organizational milestone for the party as it positions itself for active participation in the next electoral cycle.
